Swaps

Hello me again.. Im getting caught up on my blog posts this morning. One of my new years resolutions was to join your paper pantry and i have joined 2 swaps this month.

The first one was a rolodex swap called.. Rolling with your homies. We were to alter a rolodex card with the theme of valentines day.

I cut out my card and cut the cupcake from the sweet treats cartridge at 1". I embelisshed it with stickles and my new I-rock system that works GREAT.

The other swap I joined was an ATC swap or artist trading card swap. This was my first ATC swap and the theme for this one was new years.

I cut the title from enjoy the seasons cricut imagine cartridge and cut the martini glass from cuttin up cricut cartridge.

Special Card For a Friend

Good Morning Everyone,

I wanted to share a card I made for a special friend of ours. Her name is Tony and she is an amazing STRONG women. She has triple  negative breast cancer and last week she didn't recieve good news and hospice was called in. I have been thinking of her often this week and wanted to create something special for her.

I made the card below using: pink journey cricut cartridge for the dove and the word courage, I used prima flowers and on the inside used a $1 stamp from michaels. I had a pink ribbon charm which I used to look like the bird was carrying it.

Our thought and prayers are with her and her family.

The pictures below are pictures of Tonya and her girls a year and half ago when she was first diagnosed.

Valentines

I was early this year for once. Lol. I made this card idea stolen from pinterest.

I took the photo outside by the fence making sure the fence showed because I knew I wanted to put words on it. I used picnik.com to put words in various colors and fonts. I love that site then just put a sucker through the card.

Winter wonderland tag swap

Winter Wonderland Tag Swap hosted by Iowa2308 on youtube.
I have entered another swap and I really had a great time making these tags.
Below are some pictures of my workspace while my tags were "in progress"

Surprisingly enough this is the cleanest workspace mid project I think I have had in awhile. An objective of mine this year is to clean as I go and "try" and keep a neat workspace.

We had to use the colors : blue, and white. I wanted to use my cricut imagine on this project. I printed my own paper using the Mr. Frosty cartridge and cut the snowman out at 4" from the Snow angel cartridge. I cut the snowman out and stickles the bottom with silver dust and a teal color to look like ice and snow. I wanted to create a 3d snowman. My first thought was I wanted to use an action wobble to make him wobble back and forth but they were out of stock. Their website said they would be back in stock mid december but I checked everyday and they didn't become available till the beginning of this week. So I knew I wouldn't have time to order them and then wait for them to get here to make my tag swap deadline. I tried to make my own but they weren't the same.

So I plan on ordering some and using them on different projects and swaps this year. So, since I wanted a 3d effect I cut out the layers of the snowman, glossy accented the cap and pop-dotted up the snowman pieces.

I absolutely love the back! I added a fun charm! I am really enjoying making charms. I think its because I watched project accessory and my inner "jewelry designer" was unleashed into making scrapbook charms. I used my martha stewart drippy goo punch to make icicles.

I packaged them in clear cellophane.

Then I created some snowman pockets to put the tags in to go with the snowman theme.

Happy Crafting!

Happy New Year

Happy New Year Everyone! I know I am one day late with this post but Oh well, at least I spent yesterday doing things for myself.

This year I have made several new years resolutions and have VOWED to KEEP THEM.(especially number 1). So without further ado here they are:

1. Do More PROJECTS and things for MYSELF.
(I often spend more/most of my time making projects for everyone else except for myself because I can'tt say NO. But this year I have vowed to make/decorate less cakes for everyone since I have been getting burned out and less projects unless its a project for someone that I REALLY want to do and that will not be STRESSFUL. I spent may times this year stressing out over projects that were not mine). I plan on joining more swaps I want to participate in and completing my OWN projects. I plan on joining your paper pantry and participating in some fun challenges.

2. Focus more on my fitness and weightloss. While this is a goal I have accomplished the past couple years (I have lost 60lbs and kept it off). I had fallen just a little bit since I used to go to the gym 6 days a week has fallen to about 4 days a week when Lana started kindergartena and I had to get on a new schedule. Since we  have now been in the groove its time to lose those last 15 or so lbs I want to before  pool season.

These are really my only 2 new years resolutions this year. My main focus and not to STRESS myself out so much over other peoples projects this year.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Marie
