So glad you made it over to my blog. Since I had several questions on how I made these envelope book I thought I would give you a picture tutorial here.
I love the Illustrated Faith community, the ladies and everyone involved are so sweet. I never would have imagined I would have made so many new friends on this journey that share the love of God that I do.
I loved the girl on the harvest printable from the Illustrated Faith print and pray shop. I thought she looked like me. Check out my instagram (m78foster) for a photo where I tried to look like her with my gratitude documented album.
This album has a lot of pockets that you can slip tags, notes or anything you want to keep into. In my book for this project I am using a lot of tags, that I will decorate as the month progresses.
The inside cover turned out cute. I used the reverse confetti acorn die and stamp set.
I also added all the cards from the Illustrated Faith gratitude kit.
For this project I used 6x9 envelopes, for the smaller tip in's you will see down below you can use the small "coin" envelopes if you want even more pockets to fill. For my album I used 5 envelopes.
Take the envelope and fold over the flab and measure 6" and score
Then cut a sliver of the end of the envelope off. This will create the pockets when the book is put together.
Then cut the flap with the seal on it off. Not off all the way just the gummed section, leaving a small section of the flap. (this will be where you can put a tip in or the smaller coin envelope if you choose"
Add adhesive to the sliver of flap left and add the tip in.
Once added it will make a "z" fold, shape.
Next, either pop the clasp off or cut it out. These envelopes will be covered with paper so its ok :)
The hole will be covered with paper.
Once you cut all the envelopes you want, you can bind them a number of ways. What I did was use my Illustrated Faith packaging from the kit and used my cinch machine to punch the holes. Instead of using a spiral clasp i just threaded twine through. It is important to note that if you choose this binding method and want deeper pockets you will need to do what I did to the spines. I cut a slip of paper 1/2" x 6" and added to the right of the paper and all the envelopes. This way the machine punched through the added paper and not the envelopes.
The maroon is the slip of paper I cut and adhered half of it to the envelope to create my spine.
If you want the pocket to fit 2 tags like I did, you can take a strip of adhesive and add to the middle. This created 2 pockets to slide my tags into.
Thanks for visiting my blog. Have a blessed day.
